Jamul is an unincorporated community in San Diego County, California. The Jamul census-designated place (CDP) had a population of 5,920 at the 2000 census.

Jamul is a beautiful little town located in the desert foothills of the San Diego Mountains. It is approximately 18 miles southeast of San Diego along Highway 94, and is situated about halfway between the city of San Diego and the Cleveland National Forest. So, depending on your mood, you can either spend your time in the city or explore the pine forests, lakes and streams of the nearby state parks and forests. This is an exceptional area for outdoor recreation, where almost any kind of sport imaginable is available.
