Tennessee State Museum owns the credit of being one of the biggest museums of the nation that has over 60,000 square feet of permanent exhibits along with 10,000 square feet of changing exhibition hall. There are superb exhibits dating back from prehistoric eras to the early 1900s. A beautiful place to visit is Springfield Historic Downtown where the wonderfully maintained Main Street is speckled with shops, cafes, archives, museum, and a 125 year old courthouse. The 19th century Hundred Oaks Castle is another important attraction. This enormous structure is marvelously adorned by colorful gardens, exclusively designed by Rosemary Verey of England. Do not miss Pickett State Park that has some unique rock formations, caves, and bridges other than amazingly beautiful botanical gardens.
